Singer Konshens mourns brother’s passing Delus-10


The entertainment fraternity is in shock over the alleged suicide of singjay Delmark ‘Delus’ Spence, older brother of deejay Konshens.
According to the Constabulary Communications Unit (CCU), residents of Riverside Drive in Havendale, St Andrew alerted the police minutes after 7:00 pm Wednesday after hearing an explosion from the artiste’s apartment.
Delus’s lifeless body was discovered in his bathroom with what appeared to be a gunshot wound to the head. He celebrated his 35th birthday last weekend.

Instagram to grieve the loss of his brother.
“No know how mi aggo do dis without u, dawg. But mi aggo do it, cah u love see mi a do it. We can always say u neva affi do dat, but mi prefer seh mi wish u neva affi do dat. Mi know you, if it was so heavy that u think u needed to quit then to hell with it, dawg. REST and rest easy to,” the post read in part.

Konshens also thanked the public for the outpouring of support.
On Sunday, a happy Delus posted a video of his social media pages thanking everyone for birthday wishes while bidding all fathers greetings on Father’s Day.
“Big up all a di fathers dem who take care of dem youth whether dem like dem baby mother or not. Big up all Geminis; Geminis rule, so I am going to continue to enjoy my birthday throughout di whole a di month,” he said.
As news of the entertainer’s death circulated, fans took to social media to express grief and condolences.

“This is just too sad. RIP DelusSubkonshus!
What tomorrow may bring nobody don’t know...Condolences to Konshens and the entire family,” female dancehall artiste Spice posted.
Delus’s close friend, Darrio, wrote: “This shouldn’t be my next post dawg!!! Mi nuh strong enuff to deal wid this,”.

Minutes before his death, it is alleged Delus recorded a video of himself holding a gun to his head. He spoke of longstanding personal problems.
In an interview with
Splash, producer of Stoneage Productions and Delus’s close friend Hugh Stone, was shocked by his passing.
“I was never aware of any issues that Delus was having as he never showed it, he was always laughing. I spoke with him a few days ago as he wanted me to check on something for him and I did. He showed no emotion of unhappiness,” Stone said.
“I knew he had a licensed firearm but I never dreamed that he would turn it on himself. I can’t digest this one.”
Konshens and Delus emerged on the dancehall scene in the early 2000s as the duo Sojah. Their first hit was Medz Pon Di Corner released by the Cash Flow label in 2004.
That year, the brothers toured Japan where the song was popular. They also released the album, Sons of Jah.
Eventually, they went solo but often collaborated on songs like
She’s Happy, So High, Wake up and
Call The Police.
